☞ It was fun to see everyone's different medias that impacted their life. A lot of us had similarities when it came to TV shows and books. You could tell the boys music from the girls music because girls tended to have pop princesses and boy bands. I like how a lot of the presentations started off with early years and progressed to later life.
☞ If I had to change something about my autobiography, I would break it down in early years to later years rather than different categories. My favorite part about my project was finding different sounds to relate to a TV show or news clip. It was fun to use more than one media to show the impact in my life.
☞ The benefits of this assignment allow students to reflect on their life. Seeing what inspired them to grow and what they were interested in as a kid and as they grow is not only fun but allows students to see how they have learned. I like the concept we did in this project to find our own clips and pictures to show. For my students I would set a limit on the number of slides. I know I got carried away because it's fun to reflect, but students may need a limit.

Hi friend!
ReplyDeleteI never knew you wanted to be in CSI!! This is something I just discussed in my blog. Students are able to learn so much about one another from these presentations. I am sure you did a great job.
The media do have a major impact on the lives of young people. Those with older brothers and sisters were into more advanced material before those who are oldest in the family. It is interesting to watch these trends come about in class.
I was one of those girls who had the boy bands such as Hanson and The Backstreet Boys in my presentation. I think some of the boys liked them too, but just did not put it in their slideshow!
So, I just wanted to drop by and say hello. You can check out my blog at http://marissalovesenglish.blogspot.com/
Marissa and Amanda,
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of using this assignment in a classroom is students gaining from each other's presentations. They learn from each other and form the comfortable community, but I'm sure many will react as I did to the presentations, too. I was so inspired to read all of the books that changed your lives. Hopefully, my students will be influenced in the same way!
