Waiting for Superman
I have also been hearing a lot of good things about the movie Waiting for Superman. This is a movie based on public education and how it is affecting students. As future teachers, we need to make sure we are helping to better the lives of our students. The synopsis of the movie states, "Guggenhiem sets off on a probing journey into the lives of five unforgettable kids whose dreams, hopes and untapped potential reveal all that is at stake at this critical moment."

I want to see this movie really badly! I have a feeling it is not going to show the type of picture of the education system that we would like it to.
ReplyDeleteI really feel that since we are the teachers of the future, we NEED to make a difference. No more teachers who leave right after school and come in unprepared. No more are the teachers who turn their heads after witnessing bullying. We are that difference. I am so proud of this. I cannot wait to make this difference.
I agree Marissa. I was looking at dates to see this movie and it was only showing this week. Hopefully it comes back again or it comes out on DVD. I know I won't be a teacher who leaves right after the bell. I already love my job and I don't have a permanent job. I want to help kids learn and succeed and leaving early or coming in late will not help students. Because of the education we have received, we will make a difference in the lives of children and be successful teachers.
